Time for Gangnam Style

There is a MV that has 200,000,000 viewers in 2 weeks (now it has been viewed for over 300,000,000 times) and different versions are made by people from different countries. It is Gangnam Style by PSY from South Korea. On September 20, 2012, this video became the most liked video.
Let’s have a look at the video first.
Actually, not everyone likes this video, but we need to ask why it is so prevalent. First of all, we should know the background of the song. Gangnam is a district in Seoul which is similar to Beverly Hills in California. We can find many elements that belong to “higher” or “rich” classes, for example, horses, luxury cars and boats. That is the music video reflects the real world facts.
Ok, it is enough for the background; let’s talk about the most interesting part of the video which is the dance steps. The famous steps would be the steps like riding a horse. I should say it is easy to learn and it looks funny. That should be the reason why more and more people imitated the steps. I am not the musician so i could not judge the quality of the song, but I would say the melody would be easy to remember.
Now, let’s have a look at some more "Gangnam Style" videos.

The host and lucky Mascot of tvb - tvbuddy

There is an isolated stage for TVBA stars and other performer to show up their talent and giving out fabulous gifts for the audience who participated. To be eligible to enter the stage, you must be the TVBA VIP members. I was so lucky to enter the VIP area without being the VIP member of TVBA. Why? Simply because I knew the manager of Shirley and she allows me to enter, how nice she was.
The weather was nice, the performances were amazing. My idol Shirley looks as pretty as usual, her voice as sweet as how she looks like. When she came to the stage, the audience called her name in Cantonese loudly and excited. Can you believe it this is her 5th time to visit Sydney as TVBA special guest. I bet she must be so popular. I was again lucky enough to take a photo with her. I really hope I will meet her again.

audiences were so happy to see Shriley on the stage

Australia would have the first eighth generation game consoles in November 20. Due to the success of Wii, fans expect huge improvements for the successor. Today, we are going to introduce the features in Wii U.

First of all, Wii U has a different design with Wii. The new design could be seen as the combination of home consoles and handheld consoles. That is the first time that a home consoles features a touchscreen. The purpose of that would be using the consoles alone without TVs.

For the hardware, Wii U would have an IBM POWER7-based multi-core processor, an AMD Radeon enhanced E6760+ GPGPU, a 2GB RAM and a 8GB storage for basic edition (32GB for deluxe edition).
Actually, we should look at the performance in the official trailer video from E3 2011.

If you are thinking about purchasing a console for your family, Wii U would be a good choice. You could get black premium pack for $428 and white basic pack for $348. Also, new games include Super Mario Bros. U and FIFA 13 would be available on November 30. We hope this post would give you some ideas about Wii U.

TVBA Jadeworld Carnival Press Conference2012

Earlier in the week, I got a call from TVBA informing me that I was one of the lucky winners of the TVBA online voting poll, so was invited to attend the TVBA Jadeworld Carnival Press Conference at Market City held today! As a big fan of Shirley Yeoung, i was very excited.

It was held at the Eight Chinese Modern Restaurant and Kenny Wong and Shirley Yeung were going to be there! I haven’t been to a TVB conference before and I didn’t really know anyone there so I wasn’t sure what to expect haha…

When I arrived, I went to sit at my allocated seat which was pretty much at the back, with the other lucky winners. They were mostly older mums, happily chatting away with each other about their favourite TVB series- how cute!  I guess because it was a private function, there weren’t that many people there. A lot were old too, so they were nowhere as keen as I was to approach the artistes- SCORE!

Soon, the guests arrived and the conference commenced….I immediately moved to stand at the front with the bunch of other photographers haha. The guests each made a little speech- Shirley was talking about the TV programmes she has been hosting in the past years; and Kenny made mentions of liking to take photos while on trips and promoted a bit on his new series “The Last Steep Ascent”. As usual, I was waving at them enthusiastically and Shirley waved back haha. Kenny acknowledged with a smile.

The lucky winners were then asked to come on stage as they presented the sponsor gifts! 10 people were presented with Holden company umbrellas. I was one of them!! We also received some cutlery, and a TVB calculator in our TVB show bags. We were then asked to stand behind the artistes for a group photo.

At the end of the conference, the guests were coming off the stage to get seated for lunch. This was when I went on stage to ask Shirley for a photo!! She’s so pretty!! (and so skinny!) She said “Sure! Oh let’s move over a bit, the lighting is not as good here” haha! The artists surely know where they look best on camera!

Fore the detail of the  actual Jadeworld Carnival, please keep an eye on Channel【e】, as wet will udated the live show on Friday.
